I definitely give this one 3 1/2 stars. I think the story line itself was pretty awesome, and by the end, you want to know what happens to the characters next. But, in the beginning, and even into the middle of the book, the characters themselves seemed undeveloped for some reason, and were frustratingly immature. I don't know, maybe it was just frustration at not understanding where the plot was headed, and that I didn't understand why Heather was getting so involved so quickly with Ruben. Once I figured out what was really going on with many of the characters, things that happened early on in the book made a LOT more sense. When I was getting into the last, oh, 1/4 of the book, I could sympathize deeply with Heather. I personally have been in a similar situation to what she has going on with Ruben, and why it feels so hard to make decisions about a relationship like that. Plus, with the devastatingly handsome Frank around, who wouldn't be confused?! :)And for those of you who get to the middle (and end) of the book and want to murder Ruben, I think we need to give him the benefit of the doubt, at least for now. All I have to do is think about what it would have been like growing up the way he did, and I think it really screwed him up. Big time.
Anyway, if you're reading this book, and are frustrated with it at the beginning, don't let it stop you from reading it! I really am glad I finished it, and I'm excited to see what happens to everyone next! I hope you give it a chance.

Untimely An Untimely Romance Book 1 edition by J Wells L Wells Regina wamba Sarah Cheeseman Adrian Brown Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
Confusing, boring, and boorish characters. So much vacillating from the main character, can a person be that insipid and likable? Also, no clarity of the time travel. It can be paranormal, but when a girl show up a hundred years before her time in jeans, I think it would be remarked upon. Odd.
This book was amazing! Romance, fantasy, and time-travel! This young girl travels through time and finds herself caught between two worlds as well as romances. Who will she chose? Read it and find out. It's a great YA love story that you can enjoy at any age.
I had trouble through the beginning few chapters as I found it hard to relate to the main character. As the plot grew & deepened the books premise had me hooked. A good mystery plot to keep you going. I felt there could have been more character development. For me I felt Heather & Rubens relationship move at to fast a clip to feel realistic in the beginning. But other than that overall a good read and I would definitely recommend to young adult reading fans.
So, this was quite the perfect melting pot for me. I love the romantic notions of historical romances, but I also love the spiciness of modern day contemporaries. This book combined the two flawlessly, and it was quite the page turner.
There's no doubt that I will read book 2.
While I really wanted to like this book because I love time travel novels, I just couldn't get into this story and deleted the book after about one-third of the way into it. Ruben was not an attractive character that I could like and Heather was a portrayed as a ditzy "oh, I love you" then "no I hate you, leave me alone" fickle teenage girl. The descriptions of the Manor, the tree house, and the train ride in Wales were quite nice, but did not make up for the totally unlikeable main characters.
I know I have enjoyed a book if, when I finish the last page I am desperately looking for more pages. I enjoyed all the characters in this book, whether they were 'good' or 'bad'.. they had depth and the interactions left you wanting to figure out why they behaved as they did. And like any true real life situation, all the details don't come out at once! Even Ruben, who many find objectionable, was very multi-dimensional and he left you wanting to know why he was the way he was.. he had the capacity for so much... Loved Heather the main character, and watching her mature and grow.. LOVE the time travel aspect of this.. can't wait for another book to read more about them all... even Heather's family, who were more peripheral to the story, left you wanting to 'figure them out' For me a great character leaves you wanting to meet up with them again, and I can't wait to get together with these people again soon!
I recently finished Untimely and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is not typically the genre I read, but the cover art and book description reeled me in and I had to give it a chance. I am glad that I did. The authors blend a good romantic tale with lots of suspense and time travel elements that make putting the book down very, very difficult. I highly recommend this to others!
